Not a surprise. The BlackBerry Priv, company’s first Android phone and the last phone manufactured in-house by BlackBerry won’t be receiving the Android Nougat or any other update, confirmed BlackBerry.

Alex Thurber, BlackBerry’s General manager of Mobilty Solutions, confirmed the news during the 100th episode of the UTB Blogcast. On the podcast, he stated that getting together all the partners required would be close to impossible.

The Priv shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but was updated to 6.0 Marshmallow. However, the device wasn’t very much of a success, so further software support already seemed unlikely.
