Interior Minister of Pakistan, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has taken strong notice of the agreement between NADRA and MasterCard for financial transactions.
According to a statement issued by Interior Ministry, the said agreement was signed without taking written permission from the government, no one was ever consulted and it went through without considering the sensitive security issues.
Ch. Nisar has also directed NADRA to submit a reply as to why and under which laws a foreign-based company was being given access to its records.
The minister said that the use of modern technology for foreign transactions is a good thing but there cannot be any compromise on the security of national database records.
