On 1st of January, ProPakistani reported that three bloggers, hailing from Multan went missing after appearing before FIA Cyber Crime Wing Islamabad, on the morning 31st of December.
Those bloggers were called upon by FIA Cyber Crime Wing, Islamabad to present themselves before investigation officer on (Dec 31st, 2016) for posting images of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with a PML(N) leader while wrongly attributing him as Justice Saqib Nisar.
Bloggers removed those images from their websites and appeared before Cyber Crime Wing but only to get arrested, and when contacted, their parents were clueless and had no idea on whereabouts of their kids.
It must be noted that Interior Minister of Pakistan, Chaudhary Nisar, had ordered the FIA to investigate the culprits behind spreading fake image of Prime Minister Mr. Nawaz Sharif.
Although it is unclear that what charges those bloggers will face, but they might be charged with “Cyber Terrorism”.
As Section 7 of Cyber Crime Law states:
The use of threat is designed to coerce, intimidate, overawe or create a sense of fear, panic or insecurity in the government or the public or a section of the public or community or sect or in society
Pakistan introduced these Cyber Crime Laws in Pakistan is mid 2016, and according to that even if you post a fake image on Facebook — which is obviously wrong — and will get behind the bards immediately, with no warrants, investigation or trial at all.
